10 of the best new UK attractions to visit in 2022

There is a host of new rides and attractions set to open to the public across the UK in 2022 – here are some of the best that we have found and are really excited about and can’t to go and visit.

Tomb Raider: The LIVE Experience

Tomb Raider: The Live Experience is set to open at a 30,000 square foot venue in Camden, London in May 2022.

Based on the ever-popular games and movies, Tomb Raider: The Live Experience allows for groups of families and friends to become part of the action and be immersed in the world of Tomb Raider. It’s perfect for those who are looking for action and excitement and will launch visitors on the ride of their lives, joining Lara Croft in a real-life adventure.

Farmyard Flyer in Tornado Springs at Paultons Park 

The 1950’s fictional 1950s midwestern town Tornado Springs at Paulton’s Park which opened last year is getting even bigger and better in 2022 with the  launch of the Farmyard Flyer – a children’s roller coaster opening in the park’s Tornado Springs land.

Tornado Springs is the fifth themed land at Paulton’s Park and is our favourite part of the park so we are really excited to see and experience this new expansion.

 3 new rides at CBeebies Land at Alton Towers

CBeebies Land at Alton Towers is getting 3 new rides and attractions this year, building on the launch of David Walliams Gangster Granny attraction which opened last year. This years expansion are themed around the popular TV shows Hey Duggee, Andy’s Adventures and JoJo & Gran Gran.

A new Hey Duggee adventure land will be a big hit for families with younger children and will feature a Clubhouse where children can slide, climb and bounce on.  Duggee the dog will also be here to meet visitors.

A huge new digging site at Andy’s Adventure attraction will allow children to discover dinosaur bones and footprints.

Finally children will also be able to visit Jojo & Gran Gran’s house which will be an interactive experience, including meeting Great Gran Gran and helping her bake banana bread and learning about wildlife in the garden.

Viking Themed Land at Drayton Manor

Drayton Manor theme park is expanding in 2022 with the launch of a new Viking themed area, consisting of 3 new family friendly rides including one for younger children. One of the new rides Jormungandr is a kids mini coaster with views of the park and lake on what was the Buffalo Coaster.  A new thrill ride Zamperla Nebulaz, which feature eight gondolas with four arms rotating, inspired by the malevolent god of mischief Loki.

Disk’O Coaster, looks as though it will be similar to ‘The Edge’ ride at Paultons Park  with riders spinning in a giant wheel across a coaster track.  A new restaurant Walhalla completes this new expansion serving up delicious barbecue treats.

The hotel at Drayton Manor is also having a makeover with 10 of its rooms updated to the Viking theme with Nordic-inspired furnishings and artwork paying tribute to mythical legends.

Blackpool Pleasure Beach

Blackpool Pleasure Beach has more than 125 rides and attractions and it’s set to become even better this year.

Voted as the world’s best water ride, Valhalla is returning in 2022  with a brand soundtrack, but the highlight for 2022 is ICON – the UK’s first double-launch rollercoaster which is set to become even more terrifying.   As you board the new carriages Enso, as the coaster speed up to 52mph and heights of 88ft you get to control your own spins!
