Godiva Chocolate Cafe at Harrods, London

I must confess I am a fan of Belgian chocolatier Godiva, and after meeting Santa at the Harrods Christmas Grotto, we paid a visit to every chocoholics dream the Godiva chocolate café located on the 2nd floor of the luxury Knightsbridge store.

The aroma of fresh chocolate lures you into the café as you walk past, and I can see why it is so very popular as this is no ordinary café.

As you enter the Godiva café you walk past the large marble bar which is its centrepiece. We felt like we had entered into a chocolate paradise as your eyes were immediately drawn to the displays of beautiful patisseries and deserts. What caught my attention was the extensive chocolate counter filled with a huge selection of Godiva’s finest chocolates from pralines to truffles.

A giant wall mounted illuminated Lady Godiva welcomes you to the café which is bright, modern and elegant.

With chocolate covered shelves and chocolate coloured tiles it was a lovely setting to relax in away from the hustle and bustle of the store. As our waiter led us to our table you could see the chefs preparing the delicious patisseries and deserts.

The menu offered so many tempting options, including savoury, patisserie and decadent chocolate desserts and drinks.

To start we chose English breakfast loose leaf tea from a selection of seven varieties followed by Godiva chocolate brownie and vanilla cheesecake. The cheesecake was accompanied with a delicious hot chocolate sauce to drizzle over in either a milk, white or dark chocolate.

The presentation of the cakes was stunning, and looked too nice to cut into. Every bite was just delicious and the girls thought it was amazing. The desserts were also of a very generous portion size which made them perfect to share.

If you love quality chocolate and desserts, then The Godiva Café at Harrods is the ultimate chocolate experience in London. It’s luxurious and the deserts were just irresistible, we can’t wait to return.
