Our visit to STK Orlando at Disney Springs was an experience we had been looking forward to during our visit to Disney. We had heard great things about STK from their London location, so we were excited to finally try it out. We decided to visit for brunch on a Saturday afternoon, before heading to Magic Kingdom later that evening to catch the fireworks.
From the outside, STK blends in with the brick-clad aesthetic of Disney Springs, but stepping inside, the atmosphere dramatically changes. The interior feels more like something you’d find in Miami or New York—sleek, trendy, and upscale.
Right in the lobby, there’s a large floral STK sign that immediately caught our attention, and of course, we had to stop for a family photo before being led to our table in the main dining room on the ground floor.
The modern decor at STK can best be described as a fusion of an upscale steakhouse and a chic nightclub. There were mirrored walls, bold neon lights, plenty of blacks and whites, large floral arrangements and even animal bones jutting out of the walls.
For our teenage daughters, this trendy, vibrant setting felt exciting, almost like a taste of a nightclub experience. However, I’d say STK isn’t ideal for families with younger kids, as there’s no kids’ menu and the vibe is definitely more suited to older guests. There was even a DJ spinning club tracks during brunch, so if you’re after a quiet, romantic meal, this may not be the best choice.
After our meal, we checked out the other floors, and I have to admit, the dining room on the first floor and the outdoor terrace—with its fantastic views over Disney Springs—appealed to us more than the ground floor setting.
Now, on to the food. As is common in many American restaurants, they started us off with their complimentary pull-apart bread, served with olive oil, which was delicious. Our server recommended the wedge salad, but unfortunately, it was a bit of a letdown. The Wagyu mini sliders were just okay, not quite living up to our expectations.
However, our main courses were where STK redeemed itself. As you’d expect from a steakhouse of this caliber, the steaks were fantastic. My youngest daughter and I both opted for the 6-ounce filet mignon, and it was absolutely perfect—deliciously buttery, tender, and cooked exactly to our liking.
We shared a side of fries, which paired well with our steaks. My husband, went for the 10-ounce ribeye, and he was equally pleased with the flavour and quality of his main.
Our eldest daughter decided to try something different and went for the halibut fish and chips. Unfortunately, this dish didn’t live up to the high standard set by the steaks. The fish was a bit underwhelming, especially considering the price tag. The hand-cut chunky fries were good, but overall, the dish was a disappointment.
For dessert, we ended on a high note. The girls and I shared the Bag o’ Donuts, which was a real treat. Warm, cinnamon-sugar donuts came in a little paper bag, served with three dipping sauces. The dulce de leche was our favourite, but the other sauces were also delicious. My husband, meanwhile, thoroughly enjoyed his cheesecake, which came with a raspberry coulis and fresh berries, and he highly rated it as one of the best he’s had in a while.
As for the service, while our food came out in a timely manner, we felt that the service was a bit overwhelming. It lacked the warmth and attentiveness you’d expect from a top-tier Disney Springs restaurant, which was disappointing, especially given the higher price point of the brunch.
Overall
Overall, while the meals—especially the steaks—were very good, I’m not sure I’d rush back to STK Orlando for brunch as a family. The experience is quite expensive for what it offers, and the atmosphere, while fun for older teens, might not be to everyone’s taste, particularly for families with younger children or those seeking a more relaxed dining environment.
That said, I would recommend trying their lunch menu, which is far more reasonably priced, and perhaps even dining on the outdoor terrace to enjoy the views over Disney Springs.
STK is certainly a quirky and unique restaurant, but for us, it might be a one-time experience.
