easyJet to Introduce Starlink Wi-Fi Across Its Fleet From 2027

easyJet has announced plans to introduce high-speed Starlink internet across its fleet from 2027, bringing onboard connectivity to millions of passengers travelling across Europe.

The airline has partnered with SpaceX to install Starlink technology on its Airbus A320, A320neo and A321neo aircraft. The rollout is expected to begin during the first half of 2027 and continue through to early 2028.

Once installed, passengers will be able to browse the internet, stream content, play games and work online using their own devices throughout the flight.

Starlink uses a network of low-Earth orbit satellites to provide internet connectivity and is increasingly being adopted by airlines due to its faster speeds and improved reliability compared to many traditional inflight Wi-Fi systems.

The technology aims to offer a more seamless online experience in the air, giving passengers access to internet speeds closer to what they would expect on the ground.

For easyJet customers, it marks a significant change, as the airline has never previously offered onboard Wi-Fi across its fleet.

Will easyJet Wi-Fi Be Free?

One key detail has yet to be confirmed.

While easyJet has announced the introduction of Starlink, the airline has not revealed whether passengers will receive complimentary access or whether charges will apply.

This differs from the likes of Virgin Atlantic and British Airways, which began introducing Starlink technology across its fleet earlier this year and has committed to offering the service free of charge to passengers.

The move is the latest sign that high-speed inflight internet is becoming a standard feature rather than a premium extra.

More airlines are investing in onboard connectivity as passenger expectations continue to evolve, with travellers increasingly wanting to stay connected throughout their journey whether for work, entertainment or simply keeping in touch with family and friends.

For easyJet, the introduction of Starlink will help bring its onboard experience closer to that offered by some full-service carriers, particularly on the connectivity front.

As someone who regularly flies easyJet for short European trips, I think this is a positive announcement. Reliable Wi-Fi isn’t necessarily something that determines which airline I book, but it’s certainly one of those features that’s useful when you have it, especially when travelling with kids.

The biggest question now is whether easyJet follows Virgin Atlantic and British Airways and offers the service free of charge. If it does, it could become one of the most significant passenger upgrades the airline has introduced in recent years.

For now, passengers will need to wait until 2027 for the rollout to begin, but it looks like staying connected at 35,000 feet will soon be an option on easyJet flights.
