Best indoor snowdomes in the UK for real snow and skiing

There are so many great indoor ski slopes located throughout the UK, here are some of our favourite indoor ski slopes in the UK.

Chill Factore, Manchester

As you drive across the bridge on the M60 on the way to the Trafford Park it is very difficult to miss the massive building which dominates the skyline that houses Chill Factore. Chill Factore offers a huge range of snow activities including skiing, tobogganing, snowboarding and snow play in their snow park. With a huge 180m long real snow slope, it’s one of the longest indoor ski slope in the UK and a beginners’ slope which is 40 metres long.

The snow park contains four great activities to keep children and adults entertained including tubing runs, sledge racing, a bobsleigh/luge run where you travel quickly down the course plus a fantastic snow luge ride for children aged 6 – 16. For children aged 4 and under there was the brilliant ‘Mini Moose Land’ which is a snow themed adventure zone.

Tamworth Snowdome, West Midlands

The snowdome in Tamworth boasts the one of longest indoor ski slopes in the UK at 170 metres long, and the first snow down we had visited.  There are also two snow academy areas which are separate 30m and 25m slopes so its a great place to learn how to ski or to refresh your skills before you next ski holiday.  One of the favourite areas here for kids will be the snow play area, where they will love making snowballs with the real snow, tubing, sledging and having fun on the giant snow slide.

The Snow Centre, Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire

The Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead is the most recent snowdome in the UK and the closest indoor real snow slope to London .  Featuring a 160m long and 30m wide main piste, served by four lifts and lined with snow cannons.  The Snow Centre also has the largest indoor ski lesson slope (100m long) in the UK with real snow, ensuring perfect ski conditions all year round.  You might have seen this snowdome on TV as its where the celebs train before they compete on Channel 4’s The Jump programme.

It’s not just skiing and snowboarding here, kids love visiting to play in the real snow at their snow centre and slide and spin down the custom built snow slope of the Ringo slide.

Snozone, Milton Keynes

Snozone Milton Keynes is the largest indoor real snow resort in Europe with a 170m main slope covered in fresh snow as each night 16 cannons launch cooled water into the air to create 1,500 tonnes of snow on the piste.  A dedicated nursery slope for beginners and learners is available and lessons are available to book.

Popular with families at Snozone are their 45 minute Family Fun Sledging Sessions on real snow.

Snozone, Castleford, West Yorkshire

Snozone Castleford offers something for all the family, with over 1,500 tonnes of real snow at this large indoor snowdome covering 430,000 sq.ft,, an area equivalent to six football pitches.

The 170m long piste is rated as one of the best in the UK, so its perfect for skiing and snowboarding and a separate nursery slope is available for beginners.

You can book a 45 minute sledging session which is perfect for families to have some fun in the snow.
