Getting children to put on sunscreen can be a challenge but this has become a whole lot easier with a great new product designed for children called Solar Buddies.
I am always looking for great products to take on our travels and that’s when I came across the award-winning Solar Buddies.
I love the fact that it was two mummies Kelli and Laura from South Wales who came up with the idea of a child friendly sunscreen applicator, which a child could use without the need of an adult!
The chunky design of Solar Buddies is so well thought out and perfect for children and their little hands. As a parent all I needed to do was choose a sunscreen (I’m a big fan of the organic Green People products) and pour up to 100ml into the Solar Buddies applicator .
As teachers are not allowed to directly apply sunscreen to a child’s skin, the Solar Buddies applicator helps both teachers and children with the application of sunscreen to protect their sensitive skin.
The roll-on applicator, allows just the right amount of sunscreen to be dispensed onto the skin. The built-in sponge rubs the sunscreen into their skin, without the usual mess associated with putting on traditional sunscreen.
The girls love their new Solar Buddies and it’s a great way of giving your child some independence. More importantly it’s a convenient and mess free way for them to apply their sunscreen whilst at school, especially during the summer months.
When the sunscreen runs out, all you need to do it give it a quick wash and refill the applicator with more sunscreen.
It’ can be easily stored in a school bag, plus there was a label on the side for the girls to write their name, so it can be easily identified.
Solar Buddies is such as good product we take it with us on all our trips and are looking forward to using it in the Florida heat when exploring Orlando.

Solar Buddies is such a great product, that is a fun interactive way for children to apply sunscreen. The girls love the product and it’s become part of their morning routine to put on their sunscreen with their Solar Buddies before popping it into their school bag for the day.
