Cowpots is a wonderful ice cream shop and bistro located just a few miles from the small town of Whitland in West Wales and is famous for its delicious selection of Cowpots Ice Cream.
Their homemade ice cream is made from the milk of their pedigree Jersey Cows from the farm. The ice cream is delicious and comes in so many flavours by the cone or in a sundae you can pick by the scoopful.
The girls enjoyed Eton Mess flavour ice cream and the vanilla flavoured Jersey ice cream.
At their lovely bistro/café area they serve breakfast, lunch, snacks and cakes. We opted for children’s pitta pizza and afternoon tea of freshly warmed scone with jam and cream or you could have chosen Welsh cakes.
When ordering staff advised us everything is made using local ingredients where possible and they could make us anything we wanted with the ingredients they have in the kitchen. So it’s a good tip to know especially if you have fussy eaters or follow a specific diet.
The cowshed at Cowpots is a fantastic place to take children as there has been a lot of thought with the activities provided to entertain children whilst enjoying food at the same time.
Children can play with outdoor games such as draughts, board games, grass and slide area to run around.
I like to find places that are family run, with good attention to detail. The food is good and the staff are friendly. The Cowshed has been open around a year and at the moment is a hidden gem in the West Wales countryside.
Open Tuesday to Sunday from 9.30am to 6pm, except Bank Holiday Mondays. Parking is plenty and there are toilet facilities that are located just beside the main building.
If you are travelling in West Wales or the Tenby area for other attractions such as Oakwood Park, Folly Farm, Heatherton, Anna’s Welsh Zoo, Dinosaur Park Tenby, Bluestone then this the Cowshed at Cowpots is not far to travel to by car and well worth the visit.
Cowshed at Cowpots is located at Pen Back Farm, Ciffig, Whitland, SA34 0NG
